The Recreational Program at TCSA is the largest of our programs involving some 2,000 participants in age groups of Under 5 coed, Under 6 coed, Under 7 boys and girls, Under 8 boys and girls, Under 9 boys and girls, Under 10 boys and girls, Under 12 boys and girls, Under 14 boys and girls, and our coed group of High School aged participants, or Seniors.
Our legendary program has been around for over 40 years. Recreational teams are typically made up of neighborhood kids and are coached by parents. Parent coaches are supported by a strong coaching education program. Teams typically practice one or two days per week and are led by parent coaches at approved sites. Games are played on Saturdays at various locations throughout the Tri-Cities area. The season is usually 9 weeks long with two seasons (Fall and Spring) available throughout the year. Players can elect to sign up for one or both seasons.
The goal of the program is to teach the basic skills involved in and the actual game of soccer in a positive atmosphere of good sportsmanship and allow the participants to have fun and learn teamwork while doing so. Competition is a natural part of any sport, but it is not the primary objective of the recreational program. It is meant to be a low-key, low-pressure recreational soccer program. The program is a great option for children who want to have fun, get some exercise or for multi-sport athletes. Each child gets to play all positions and standings for the younger ages are not recorded.
