Bill Wargo selected 2012 Illinois Youth Soccer Volunteer of the Year
Bill Wargo has been selected as the 2012 Illinois Youth Soccer Volunteer of the Year. Each year the Illinois Youth Soccer Association recognizes someone for their extraordinary accomplishments as a volunteer. Bill was selected for his efforts to advance the game both on and off the field, his demonstrated leadership within the soccer community, his willingness to promote player development and his extraordinary volunteer efforts which have increased opportunities for others to participate in soccer, serving as a positive role model for all volunteers. Bill holds many titles at TCSA, including coach, tournament director, board member, volunteer and parent. Those are his official roles at TCSA. He is also a mentor, role model and friend.
Bill joined the TCSA family in the fall of 2008 as a volunteer-certified coach of a newly formed U9 girls travel team. It was during that first year that he was asked to join the board of directors. Through the years Bill has handed out club information at the fields, been a field marshal at the rec tournament, helped at tryouts, assisted during registration and uniform try-on nights, designed numerous TCSA brochures, updated the design of the website twice, led the TCSA Classic Cup tournament committee as tournament director and currently coaches two classic travel teams, the U9 Girls TCSA Rush and the U10 Girls TCSA Tigers. Everyone knows - staff, parents and volunteers alike - that if they need any help or have questions, all they have to do is ask Bill and he is there to assist, always with a smile.

Bill is an Art Director at SmithBucklin in Chicago. He holds his IYSA E coaching license and plays in the men's league at Sportsplex. In addition to soccer, Bill is also a professional drummer/percussionist, performing all over the Chicagoland area for the last 22 years. He resides in Aurora with his wife, Brandy, and their two daughters, Chesney, who plays on the U13 Girls TCSA Premier Black team and Addison, who plays on the U9 Girls TCSA Rush.
Bill will be honored at the Illinois Youth Soccer Association Awards Banquest on Friday, March 1, 2013. Congratulations Bill!
