recreational

The TCSA Recreational Program is enjoyed by some 2,000 participants from ages 4 – 18.

This legendary community-based program has been around for over 45 years. Recreational teams are typically made up of neighborhood kids between the ages of 5 – 18. Teams may practice one or two days per week, led by parent coaches at approved sites. The coaches are supported by TCSA staff and its coaching education program. Games are played on Saturdays at various locations throughout the Tri-Cities area. The season is usually 9 weeks long with two seasons (Fall and Spring) available throughout the year. Players can elect to sign up for one or both seasons.

The Recreational program provides opportunities to learn individual and team skills in a positive atmosphere of good sportsmanship. Competition is a natural part of any sport, but it is not the primary objective of the recreational program.  It is meant to be a low-key, low-pressure recreational soccer program.  The program is a great option for children who want to have fun, get some exercise, or for multi-sport athletes. Team standings are updated throughout the season for U8 and up.  Standings for the younger aged teams are not recorded.

Team Uniforms are included in the registration fee. They are distributed directly by the coaches before each season begins. Players will be required to wear shin guards and are encouraged to wear soccer cleats.

hand in hand

Hand in Hand is a program for our youngest participants that serves approximately 100 preschool aged participants under 5 years old (born 9/2/18 – 9/1/19) and meets weekly for 7 sessions on Saturdays to have fun with friends and family within a very structured soccer environment. The objective of the program is to provide young players and their parents with a “pressure free” introduction to the game of soccer that requires little or no practice and minimal time commitment. Sessions are 45 minutes long and parents are encouraged to cheer their kids on. The program is led by TCSA's professional coaching staff.

coaching resources

Our community based TCSA rec soccer program relies on our volunteer parent coaches to have a fun and successful season
year after year.  We value every volunteer and offer training resources for coaches of all experience levels.

Throughout the season, Coach Alen Osmanovic shares a weekly training curriculum to help plan practices and maintain
a progression for the players. The curriculum is further refined for age appropriate skills to work on so that the players
stay engaged on the practice field.

Coach Alen Osmanovic offers a free training session for rec teams per season. This is a great resource for coaches to observe their teams from a sideline perspective, and Alen's training and coaching techniques offer new ideas for team practices.

If you are a new coach, we thank you for volunteering and encourage you to call or e-mail the TCSA office if you would like help to get started running your team practices.  We are here to support you and your team!

Coaches may wish to encourage their players to sign up for TCSA Fast Footwork, Goal Keeper Training, Rec Plus, and seasonal training sessions which can be found in the links below.

Team trainer sessions led by a professional TCSA trainer are available!  Call the TCSA office to inquire about team trainer sessions.
